Painless Tax Boil  "Will commissioners who voted in 2007 to double the PAC Hurricane Evacuee Tax lower Leon County property taxes in 2008?" Pace

It's time to connect the dots.  Our  taxes are going up in the future to fund construction and operation of The Florida Performing Arts & Eucation. Stop using tax dollars for charitable purposes. Lower property taxes now.

In 2007, Leon County Commissioners, Brain Desloge, Daily, Rackleff and Theall attempted to double the taxes paid by hurricane evacuees to help build the $150,000,000 Performing Arts Center, "PAC." See link to YouTube videos, Commissioners vote to tax hurricane evacuees.

They support spending over $500,000 tax dollars to tear down the Johns Building in September 2008.  The plan is to build a 90% tax funded PAC.  The ARTS should be privately funded.  If Tallahassee wants a PAC, private contributors should build it.

Hurricane evacuee dollars should not fund it. Property taxes should not fund it.  Road taxes should not be used to fund it.

    Pace
