Letter to the Editor,

Re: County commissioner speaks about budget

There is hope. Commissioner Rackleff and I agree. Public-safety is most important.

Eliminate TREE POLICE, SIGN POLICE, ARTS POLICE, PAINT COLOR POLICE, GATEWAY POLICE and other QUALITY-OF-LIFE POLICE this Tuesday at 6 p.m.  We can then focus on public-safety.  Plenty of laws exist to protect citizens from undesirable sights, sounds and smells.  Real costs of QOL POLICE are one thousand times the fees collected.  Benefit is unproven.

Commissioners need to stand for public safety.  Set the example for other counties, our state and our nation.  Stop giving taxpayer property, including cash to the adult cry babies.  Fellow citizens now cry to elected officials to satisfy personal tastes because they have seen social engineers get their way by creative crying. Cities and counties hire professional crier-beggars to prevent reduction of my $20,000 per year property tax.

Mary Ann Lindley begs Charlie Crist for a performing arts center, see Democrat article.  When will we stop begging our elected officials to take our neighbor’s money, trees, signs and property?  Years of begging has wasted countless millions of dollars, ink and productive energy.

It’s time for elected officials to stop yielding to creative beggars.  Taking from one citizen to give to another is not the American Way.  That’s the commune way.  The American Way is to voluntarily help and give, not take your neighbors property.
