What can you do with Lake Talquin Submerged Land?

Please submit your “Entrepreneurial Ideas.”

Riparian water rights are complex.  No one can guarantee what, if anything, an owner may do with Lake Talquin “lake bottom” today or 20 years from now.  No one can even guarantee that there will be water in Lake Talquin next year. The following ideas have been submitted.  Some ideas assume water continues to cover the property, others assume the Ochlockonee River and Ochlawaha Creek continue and the lake is empty.

1. Pay taxes (contribution to Gadsden County)
2. Cremains Scattering with GPS location
3. As an owner, have a say in lake use, pollution, conservation, etc.
4. Anchor my houseboat
5. Wind farm (elect generation)
6. Geological site & study
7. Archeological site & study
8. Catfish farm experiment
9. Kayak & canoe docking
10. Turtle platform
11. Dense water scuba training school
12. Pole home
13. Mushroom Farm
14. Tomato Farm
15. Deadhead logging
16. Use as compensating acreage for other lake development
17. Dock Improvement and Expansion
