My updated vision is to rebuild the Welcome Station at the East US 90 - I 10 Intersection East of Tallahassee. The cabin will be built to scale except 10 times larger with a rocking chair porch surrounding the cabin. A separate pioneer looking outhouse will handle the relief needs of our traveling guests. The home movies to be posted will show the water well and tool shed that Gran'paw Peavy built. He invited everyone to "keep dropping by and see what's new."
The Welcome Station will feature free information about all the great things to do in and around the Tallahassee Area. Including Wakulla Springs and the Tarzan & movie stories, Mission San Luis, The Tallahassee Automobile Museum, where to stay, where to eat, what to do, many other museums, the Quincy/Gadsden County millionaire story, the historty of Tallahassee Hush Puppies the Coonbottom Pilau and much more. Free ice tea, orange juice and hush puppies for everyone. The outhouse will be duty free, too.
Of course, our state song, Swanee River will be the featured music. The free Welcome Station will be surrounded by a modern money making water park. The Welcome Station will not only welcome our guests, it will educate and remind Tallahassee citizens of our rich history. I'd include alot of audio visual displays about Tallahassee history.
Let's build on our history. Don't dump it. Let me know if you like the idea of a free Welcome Station with free parking to replace the existing downtown Visitor's Center and surrounding it with a money making modern water park at the US 90 - I-10 Intersection."

I was one of the "egg hunting grandchildren." My vision is to use the John's Building as Florida's Welcome Station.
Let's not spend over $700,000 tax dollars today (as proposed by our elected leaders) to tear down the John's without a plan for the Performing Arts Center.
I have offerred to lease the "Johns" for the next four years @ $1 per year. The entire outside will be red, white and blue. Inside, the first floor will feature conservative "American Church Based Values." The second floor will be controlled by my "liberal" friends. All American outside ... diverse inside. Big American flags! Our conservative values support some very "liberal" ideals.
Suggestion: move Leon County Visitors Center to Johns Building where there is some parking or to Interstate 10.
Arts contest: plan patriotic painting and decoration of the "Johns Building."
